Historic Vehicle Show
Sandwell
Valley Country Park, West Bromwich. West Midlands. UK.
The Sandwell Historic Vehicle Show is an outdoor event held annually in the West Midlands area of England. It takes place on a 60 acre showground, which is
filled with over 800 vehicles representing all eras up to the mid
1980's. Coverage here is from the 28th show which took place in 2006.
American cars, commercials, buses, motor cycles, fire engines and
military vehicles were enjoyed by a reported crowd of over 40,000
admirers. There were plenty of photo opportunities for modelmakers
after reference material and the vehicle owners were on hand and happy
to answer any questions put to them. Jensens, Sandwell

Highlights of the show included a 1923 Vauxhall and a Clyno Royal
Tourer. They were joined by a large display of West Bromwich produced
Jensens Cars, an impressive line up by the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club
and a host of other well known names including Foden, Reliant, Ford,
Morris and Rover.

The Sandwell
Model Boat Club were there entertaining the crowds with
their displays on the boating pond. Battleships, modelers, modeling, battle ships.
Their impressive models included
competition racers, wooden steam boats and scratch-built battleships.
There was even a lighthouse island on the pond complete with working
light! West Midlands Modeling, modelers clubs, club.
My thanks to them for granting me access to their work on the day.

Other attractions included a collectors toy fair (featuring model
train, model kit and die-cast stalls), craft fair, auto-jumble, market,
trade stands and a very popular fun fair.
If you are able to attend this event the next time it comes around,
I highly recommend you check it out. The park itself is well signposted
and just a few minutes drive away from Junction 1 of the M5 motorway,
entrance to the show is free, it is well staffed and organised and
there are plenty of things to keep the whole family entertained. Modelers, modeling, modeler resource.
