About Me

My name's Adam, I'm 30 and from the West Midlands region of England in the UK. I've been modelmaking and painting for around twenty years.Adam Bagley. Formerly Redditch, Worcestershire.
I remember becoming interested in the hobby by seeing my father's remote controlled Tamiya miltary models in action around the back garden. Add to this the heavy presence of models in films such as Star Wars and Jason and the Argonauts and TV series such as Doctor Who and Gerry Anderson's Captain Scarlet and it's easy to see why I got hooked.

I've come a long way since, learning through books, clubs and plenty of trial and error. I'm always happy to share my knowledge with others and I'm still as keen as ever to learn new things and to see how others approach their work. It's because of this that the HobbyShed modelling resource has been created with sharing in mind.

I hope you enjoy your time in the shed. Modeling.

What's in the shed?

The guides section is packed full of information covering everything from the basics to the advanced. There are details on the different types of model kit available, how they are produced and what skill level they're best suited to. There's kit preparation and model assembly advice explaining what type of tools, glues and compounds should be used, what paints and painting techniques prove useful to modelmakers and what finishing touches can really make kits stand out.

The glossary is a useful tool and extensive resource in its own right, giving description and meaning to words frequently used by scale modellers.

The gallery showcases some of the model kits and scratch built pieces I've made over the years and continue to make to this day. Assembly and painting details accompany each piece. Over time, subjects covered will include aircraft, automobiles, fantasy figures, horror monsters, military vehicles and dioramas, science-fiction and ships. I hope you enjoy my models and draw inspiration from them. Modeling.

The visits portion of the site is where I review shows and events that may be of interest to modelmakers. It's well worth a look if you want to take your hobby beyond the workbench.

The forum is there for you to seek or share modelling hints, tips, advice and methods with other modelmakers. You can also post pictures of your work for all to see, discuss model wargames and roleplaying games, advertise local modelling clubs, events, wants, sales and swaps. There's even a general discussion area for you to talk news, technology, entertainment, sport, whatever you like - a great place to pass time while your model dries!

The links page directs you to other model kit and scratch build related web sites which may be of interest. Feel free to enquire about exchanging links with me if you have a modelling web site of your own.
